What is Invisalign?

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete and you achieve the confident smile that you’ve always wanted. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.

Why would I need Invisalign?

There are a number of reasons for moving teeth to a new position. One of the major reasons is to improve someone’s smile. Invisalign is a way to improve crooked, crowded or uneven teeth. It can also be used to close spaces between teeth. Another reason is to improve a person’s bite. Teeth placed in the proper position can reduce the force of grinding and clenching just as a night guard would.

What are the benenfits of Invisalign?

Just like braces, Invisalign can treat a wide variety of issues, including crowding, spacing and poor bites. Unlike braces, Invisalign allows a person to eat anything they want - no worries about breaking brackets or wires. Invisalign also allows you to remove the device whenever you want, to clean your teeth for example. Also unlike regular braces, Invisalign is relatively invisible. Invisalign aligners are very smooth and comfortable so there is no sharp metal areas that are more likely to irritate your cheeks and gums. Invisalign cases generally require fewer visits to the dental office, only coming in every four to six weeks.
